Welcome to Protecting Your Nest with Dr. Tony Hampton. Joining Dr. Hampton on the show today is licensed clinical health psychologist, Dr. Jasmin Searcy. She has earned a Masters of Science degree in Clinical and Community Counseling from John Hopkins University as well as a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Jackson State University. She currently serves as Clinical Lecturer Professor and Course Developer at Northwestern University. She utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, clinical hypnosis, and parent management training in her work.

Topics covered in this episode include the uses of clinical hypnosis, the history of hypnosis’ usage in therapy, the various types of stress, the positive feedback loop relationship between physical activity and mental health, how to deal with food addiction, vicarious trauma, the relationship between various parts of the brain and mental health, and the relationship between gut health and mental health.
