Welcome to Protecting Your Nest with Dr. Tony Hampton. In this episode, Dr. Tony is joined by his son, Brandon Hampton. He is the host of the Ritmos Negros podcast, a show that explores the African roots of Latin American and Caribbean music/dance. He earned his undergraduate degree in International Studies, Spanish, and Marketing at Washington University in Saint Louis. He is currently working on his MBA at WashU as well. An avid dancer and music lover, Brandon is passionate about using music and dance to get people moving again.

In this discussion, Tony and Brandon discuss the joys of dance and artistic self-expression, the RImos Negros podcast, the place of dance in politics and celebration in various cultures, the benefits of dance as a way to get some great exercise, the cultural connections between Latin American and African cultures, the social and physical benefits of dancing, the mental stamina and clarity that results from exercise, and how to efficiently incorporate exercise into a busy schedule.
